Situation: Theta Tau UCLA set out to create its first mentorship program to benefit its members, attract new ones, and adapt to multiple fields of Engineering. They also needed help enlisting mentors for the program. The organization collaborated with MM to recruit mentors and to build the program.
Each upper-level student was paired with a mentor to help achieve specific career goals within 3 months. Mentor Matchmaker recruited the mentors from SpaceX, Raytheon, Northrup Grumman, LADWP, CrowdFunder, FOX, etc.
Success: Mentees received internship offers, and were introduced to professionals at organizations where they desired employment. Results were measured through qualitative interviews and surveys. All students received candid insight and feedback from their mentors that clarified ambiguities, and they all showed an increase in passion and courage. The mentors and mentees presented their insight and feedback through panel discussions during a culmination event at the engineering campus.
